Bon Vivant Data Consulting

Websites, Google Ads and business advice for small businesses.

I’m Luke Snow. I’ve spent over a decade in data, and I started Bon Vivant to bring what I’ve learned to salons, bottle shops, private practices and other small and growing businesses, along with data work for companies that have outgrown their spreadsheets.

What I do

Services

Websites

What’s included

  • Copy written with you, in your own words
  • Design and build from scratch
  • Online booking and contact forms, with spam filtering and email alerts
  • Tracking on every call, form and booking, tied to the search or ad that brought it in
  • Search and AI optimization, so Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT can find you and describe you accurately
  • Editing you can do yourself for hours, prices, staff and posts
  • Hosting, your domain and email setup
  • Privacy and terms pages written from what the site actually collects
Priced per project. Most recent: a nonprofit’s full rebuild, with hosting$6,000

Google Ads

What’s included

  • Research on what a new client is worth to you and what clicks cost in your area
  • Keyword research, including the searches to block
  • Landing page copy, design and build for each kind of search
  • Ad copy, sitelinks, callouts and a call button
  • Conversion tracking on every call and form, tested before launch
  • Google Search Console setup
  • Healthcare ad policy review, for practices that need it
  • A daily performance report while I manage the account

I recommend setting up Google Ads as part of a website build. I manage it closely for the first ninety days.

Practices and shops spending a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month.

Priced per project. Most recent: a private practice$1,700

Small business advisory

What’s included

  • Strategic guidance on major decisions before you commit to them
  • Where the business should be in two years, and the steps to get there
  • How you compare with the competition nearby, and where you can stand apart
  • Who your best customers are, and how to find more of them
  • Where your marketing money goes and what it brings back
  • Pricing changes, and what each one would be worth over a year
  • When to hire, and what a new hire needs to bring in to pay for themselves
  • Payroll and schedules matched to how busy you actually are

I help owners with the big decisions: when to raise prices, when to hire, which services to put more behind and whether a second location makes sense. Most owners make those calls alone and on gut feel, because the numbers that would settle them are spread across your booking system and your books.

Salons and barbershops, bottle shops, cafés, therapists and other private practices, and the trades.

Billed by the hour$200 an hour

Data consulting

What’s included

  • Bookings, point of sale, the CRM, payroll and accounting pulled into one warehouse that refreshes overnight
  • One agreed definition for each number the business runs on
  • A handful of reports built for each role, rather than dashboards that proliferate like rabbits
  • Revenue tied back to the ads and calls that brought it in
  • Forecasts you can plan staffing, budgets and leases around
  • Maps for deciding where to open next
  • Finance’s numbers and operations’ numbers reconciled until they match
  • Automated checks that flag late or broken data before anyone acts on it

Most growing companies end up with bookings in one system, the CRM in another and finance in a third, and before long two people asking the same question come back with two different answers.

Priced per project, or on retainer at$200 an hour

The kind of thinking I’d bring

What a service earns depends on overhead per hour, and overhead per hour depends on your fixed costs, the hours you’re open, how many chairs you have and how many of those hours are booked.

Try the haircut against the color, then change how full the book is.

The service
The shop

Overhead comes to $19.78 for each hour a chair is in use.

Price
$85.00
Product
-$6.00
Card fees
-$2.55
Overhead for 60 minutes
-$19.78
You keep$56.67

That’s $56.67 an hour. Booking another tenth of your open hours would add $2.47 an hour without touching the price.

I connect your booking system and your books, and the numbers for every service you sell update on their own.

About

About me

I’ve worked in data since 2013, at companies from 30 people to billion-dollar public ones. Along the way I ran the whole data operation at myStrength, a mental health app, led an analytics offering at Daxko that grew past $1M in ARR, and built forecasts and reporting for national chains with dozens of locations.
